OUR STUDENTS

Where Sportfly training has taken people.

Every student's journey is their own. Here are a few of ours.

Jetstar in the cockpit
CALLSIGN "JETSTAR"

Our First Pilot

Jetstar completed flight training with us while still in Year 12 — our very first pilot through the school. He's now a member of the Royal Australian Air Force.

"Jett thoroughly enjoyed learning to fly! His enthusiasm and confidence grew immensely whilst under the wing of Sportfly!" — Jetstar's mum
Ryan flying, headset on, hands on the controls

Ryan

A Kempsey local, Ryan completed his Pilot Certificate with us while still in high school. He's now completing a trades apprenticeship, and still gets up flying on the occasional weekend.

Abbey flying, headset on, smiling

Abbey

Abbey completed her Pilot Certificate with us while still in high school. She's now studying nursing at university — and one day wants to fly around the world with her father.

A young Coby flying, headset on, hands on the controls

Coby

Little Coby took his first trial flight with us years ago, and kept coming back for more. Not-so-little Coby is now working through his Pilot Certificate.

Samantha standing beside the aircraft on the tarmac

Samantha

One of our first pilots, Sam excelled quickly as a student. She's now studying at university — and we're hoping she comes back one day to become an instructor herself.

Pablo flying, headset and sunglasses on

Pablo

An engineer by day and a DJ by night, Pablo completed his Pilot Certificate and cross-country endorsement with us — and has since flown a number of adventures across the country with Brian. He's also the builder behind our simulator.

Sonny Jo flying, headset and sunglasses on

Sonny Jo

Another local pilot, Sonny completed his Pilot Certificate with us while in Year 10 — and is currently working through his HSC.

Ray flying, headset and sunglasses on

Ray

One of our converting pilots, Ray now owns a very, very sweet Aeroprakt Vixxen — and can be seen flying out of Bankstown Airport most weekends.

Ben walking out to the aircraft at sunset, Western Queensland

Ben

One of our remote area pilots, Ben learnt to fly in just two weeks and went on to complete his navigation endorsement. He now has hundreds of hours flying around his properties in Western Queensland.

Rhys standing beside his Aeroprakt A22LS

Rhys

Another remote area student, this time from South Australia. The day Rhys completed his Pilot Certificate, he ordered an Aeroprakt Kelpie — and has since upgraded to a very nice Vixxen.

Glen flying above the clouds, headset and sunglasses on

Glen

One of our most regular flyers, Glen is a Kempsey local who completed his Pilot Certificate and now flies most weekends — with his navigation endorsement coming up next. He's also a great help around the school, keeping a good eye on the Aurora whenever Brian's away.

A.S. flying, cockpit view over mountain ranges

A.S.

A.S. came to us in Year 11 with dreams of becoming a fast jet pilot. After completing his Pilot Certificate and navigation training in minimal time, he finished his HSC and was selected for pilot training in the RAAF.

Ruby in the aircraft, headset on, smiling

Ruby

Ruby came to us to complete her initial flight training, with a great nature and maturity well beyond her age. She's now about to complete her Commercial Pilot Licence with our friends at Whitestar — and her future looks very bright.
